Cyberpunk '97 - Chapter 2

Well, it took years but we got there. Chapter 2.

So there were some re-writes.  In particular, the character/savegame export feature. I worked on this for over a year before throwing in the towel. During that time, my vision for the sequel began to change significantly while still offering the core experience I wanted to deliver. I felt, and still feel, that this is a far more intriguing look into the world I've written.

The attached screenshots are mockups, although the current working build is pretty damn close. A lot of the work has been done already, chiefly:

-Around 70% of all art assets have already been made. This was a slow process that took almost a year on it's own. This includes backgrounds, characters, items, weapons, armor and gui elements. This was important, seeing as how Chapter 1 is mostly 'borrowed' assets.I eventually aim to put this on Steam, therefore all assets were created by me.

-All original soundtrack consisting of 21 tracks arranged and composed by myself. I plan to add a 'jukebox' to the game to allow the player to create a playlist with the music as it unlocks. This also took a fair amount of time, and I had to trim the soundtrack DOWN to 21.

-The foundation for the turn-based combat has been made. Combat is currently functional but lacking features and flair. It is only a matter of plugging in remaining features.  I am still undecided on whether party members should be player or ai controlled.

-There are currently seven available portraits for both male and female for a total of 14. I plan to add seven more non-binary portraits for a grand total of 21.

That said, there is still plenty to do:

-SFX. There are none.  I plan to create a library of appropriate 8-bit sfx but I have yet to begin.

-I currently do not like the map but am unsure where to go with it.

-I'm not super-duper sure about how to script some of the upgrade stuff but that's never stopped me before. I have some rough ideas I need to test.

-I'm super excited working on this so I'm making an active effort not to burn myself out. I work a 60 hour week so I need to budget my time responsibly.

I'm looking forward to posting an update soon!
