Character Backgrounds, Dynamic Events, Game Overs


Hey!  Quick update!


Finally added some things that were sorely lacking.  Most notably, game over conditions and more main character development.

  • Currently there are three Game Over conditions. They are passing out from hunger (still needs some minor tweaking), getting arrested (should you choose to be a criminal and take it too far), or being shot as a result of burglarizing someone's home while they're in it.


  • Added some more character development in the form of choosing your employment history.  This affect starting stats (or money), alters dialogs and events as well as help shape npc's perception of you. This also affects the player's starting items and their familiarity with different aspects of the world around them.

  • The first of several upgrades have been added and are fully integrated into the game world and story.
  • Game ending has been completed.
  • Added button to access inventory within main UI.
  • Units that can be broken into have been randomized, as have loot and any events therein.
  • Added some nice background ambience to the player's apartment should they choose to go stand by their window. :)
  • Major proofread sweep. Now with 60% less typos!

And of course, the to-do list:

  • Continue finishing GOLIATH's dialogue.
  • Finish planning out the Character Export System for the sequel. Some promising ideas so far, toying with them.
  • Wrap up current audio work.
  • Add a few more units to potential pool.
